The building sector is accountable for roughly 40% of the EU’s total energy consumption and about 36% of energy-related direct and indirect GHG emissions. So, the sector must accelerate its transition and achieve higher energy efficiency and decarbonisation.
To do so, the EU revised the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive and aims to put the whole building industry on the right long-term trajectory. The revised legislation will have profound impacts across the entire building value chain. Beyond improving the energy efficiency of buildings and of the building stock in general, it also seeks to increase the rate of renovation, particularly for the worst-performing buildings in each country, better support health & wellbeing improvements, digitalisation of buildings, the roll-out of infrastructures for sustainable mobility.
If you want to know more about this complex agenda and get more insights on the future “rulebook” for the building sector, this webinar is for you.
