About the CSRD

CSRD Navigator helps you understand what to focus on in the CSRD and in what order to do so.

The tool supports you in performing the necessary analyses, mapping gaps and planning your path towards an easy-to-use and operational setup where your organisation meets the expectations of your business partners and the new standards. The new standards include, for example, requirements for 'double materiality assessment' and external auditing.

What is the extent of the CSRD

With the introduction of the CSRD, more than 50,000 companies must complete sustainability reporting.

The reporting also means that companies have to comply with the concept of double materiality, which covers, among other things, a mapping of the social consequences of the company's business as well as its financial risks and opportunities.

What are the requirements for my business?

Companies that report according to the CSRD must follow the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS).

The ESRS include 84 disclosure requirements and more than 1,100 data points. Reporting must be carried out in the same way as traditional financial reporting and requires an external audit of the annually reported sustainability information.

It also requires companies to tag the information digitally in a machine-readable format.

What are the deadlines?

The largest companies will have to report from the financial year 2024 and are therefore already inquiring their subcontractors, including SMEs for help. From 2026, all listed companies (excluding micro companies) will have to report and many SMEs will be included as part of this.

For SMEs, this means that even though you may not be directly affected by the new reporting requirements, you should strongly consider preparing and adapting well before the legislation is fully phased in.
