MassCEC has received a Clean Port Grant Award from the US EPA for a project focused on understanding and reducing air emissions associated with port activities. The work will focus on developing an emissions inventory, exploring practical options to reduce impacts over time and developing a long-term plan for managing emissions and engaging with the community. For this project, MassCEC is partnering with Ramboll, an engineering and consulting firm with deep experience in air quality analysis and emissions inventories, as well as community focused sustainability planning. To help ensure the community has visibility into the project, MassCEC and Ramboll will host a virtual community meeting on February 13 from 12 to 1:15 pm EST to introduce the project and actively gather community feedback that will help inform the analysis and shape how the work moves forward.
This meeting is the first in a series of planned engagement opportunities intended to keep the community informed and involved throughout the project. Participants will be invited to share perspectives on air quality and emissions related to port activities, discuss priorities and concerns, and provide input on how they would like to stay engaged over time.
